Chiropractic Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment will make your body feel amazing. Other terminology for chiropractic adjustments are as follows: chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation. The adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that has abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. A chiropractic adjustment will assist in alleviating these issues.

Dr. Cleveland is highly skilled in a system called motion palpation diagnosis, to specifically identify the level and type of joint fixation in your spine for adjusting. Dr. Cleveland emphasizes being specific in his adjusting procedures, with the effectiveness in his outcomes as the result. There is no replacing palpating and adjusting by hand, when done specifically where it is needed.

The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, increase the range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our compassionate and qualified chiropractor will work with you to relieve this pain and get you back to being pain free every single day.

A chiropractic adjustment involves thrusts applied to the vertebra, relieving sensation, discomfort, and spasms in the surrounding muscles. It also increases nerve flow to all the target tissues which is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide.

Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.

If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.

Nutrition Coaching

“There is no one way to eat that is right for everyone. Being a nutrition coach means being a partner in change who can provide answers when needed . . . or allowing the client to come to the right decision by asking the right questions.”

That’s a powerful statement. Examples of good questions you might be asked are “How do you typically walk through your grocery store?” and “What’s a normal portion size of protein per meal?” The answers to these questions are more than informative; they are foundational.

Again, nutrition is just a piece of the overall lifestyle puzzle. To Dr. Gary, being a nutrition coach means that he serves his clients in order to help them achieve health, fitness and weight loss goals by using nutrition as a tool to achieve those goals.

Custom Orthotics

We all know that the modern world of concrete and other hard surfaces wreck havoc on our feet, but what you might not know, is that it doesn't just affect your feet. When your feet are not level, that causes your entire body all the way up your spine to become crooked. So obviously we need a level foundation. The best solution? Custom orthotics! These orthotics are fitted to your feet to ensure a perfectly level stance. But the advantages don't stop there, they also help cushion your steps and ensure that hard surfaces do minimal damage.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

PPS_0684.jpg

What is soft tissue? Soft tissue is any muscle, ligament, or tendon. These fill the gaps between the bones in our skeleton. When any of these are injured, inflamed, or scarred they can pull the bones around them in unnatural ways causing not only discomfort in the area in question, but also in nearby bones. This is essentially a chain reaction because we are connected. Through techniques by hand and instruments such as Graston Tools®, the scar tissue in soft tissue can be broken up. This allows for the fascia to move freely again bringing the body back to a natural state with more movement, less discomfort, and increased strength. When normal Chiropractic treatments are not helping resolve a chronic issue, soft tissue is often the culprit. Many patients notice a difference after only one session.

X-Rays

We use X-Rays to look for alignment, subtle changes in bone structure, and joint structure. This way we can catch the largest problems early. An x-ray will give us a clearer view of your spinal health, especially after a car accident. It is a great tool for helping spot abnormalities. Dr. Gary will be able to make adjustments and provide treatment to any preceding issues that might have gone untreated. The spine is the most important part of your body, and an x-ray will allow Dr. Gary to see if there are any complications that need to be addressed before any treatment is carried out for your main issue.

X-rays can also help find any bone spurs, cancerous spots, or fractures that can worsen in time. An x-ray may also show any important characteristics that might be unique to you, such as bone spacing and density. These diagnostic tools help during treatment.

Whole Body Vibration

Whole body vibration is a session that includes standing, sitting, or laying on a vibration machine. That may sound scary, but it actually feels quite relaxing, and has been known to cause many healthy benefits. Several examples we have seen are, improved flexibility, burning fat / weight loss, reduced soreness, increased strength, reduced back pain, improved strength / balance in older adults, and even reduced inflammation. If you have problems with any of the above, Whole Body Vibration could help you!
